Whether it’s an inspirational scene of my native South Louisiana homeland or an entirely abstract vision, my expansive canvases embody and present a heightened depiction of my subjects.
When I paint, I feel compelled to create images that transcend simple objective representations. I aim rather to identify, assemble, reconstruct and amplify the core essence of each particular scene or imaginary thought.
My style is largely defined by my use of painting knives, my fingers and other objects. I don’t actually paint but rather build and mold my images to recreate my vision on canvas. This provides greater control and freedom and allows for a more profound and intimate visual message.
